STANFORD, Calif. - First round play of the 2011 Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford Golf Course was suspended Saturday due to inclement weather. The field was midway through its first round before steady rain and poor course conditions forced the golfers to the clubhouse at approximately 11:50 a.m.

California, at 140 (+2), was the leader in the clubhouse when play was suspended, Washington State was in second at 116 (+11) followed by Stanford, Colorado, UC Davis and Santa Clara, all at +12.

Individually, Cal's Daniela Holmqvist and Emily Childs currently top the leaderboard at minus-2. Cougar sophomore Emma Betland is tied for 10th at +2, having completed six holes.

First round play will resume Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. with the second round of the 36-hole event following immediately thereafter.
