PULLMAN, Wash. - Guard Derrick Roche, a three-year starter for the Washington State University Cougar football team, was named Thursday to the All-America team by the American Football Coaches Association.

Roche, who has 37 career starts, including three as a red-shirt freshman in 1999 and every game since the start of the 2000 season, has been an anchor for WSU's offensive line during a 19-4 run the past two seasons. The Cougars' two-year record is the fifth best in the nation among NCAA Div. I teams.

Saturday the 6-6, 290 pound senior from Kent, Wash., will play his final regular season game when WSU takes on UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. A win puts WSU, 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the Pacific-10 Conference, in the Rose Bowl for the second time in six years.
