COUGARS TRAINING UNTIL HUSKY CLASSIC MEET FEBRUARY 12
The Washington State track and field teams are training through the weekend...originally scheduled to compete at the Boise State United Heritage Invitational Feb. 4-5, Cougar Head Coach Rick Sloan chose to have the teams stay in Pullman and prepare for the conclusion of the indoor season.

JORDAN TO COMPETE AT USA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Drew Jordan, a freshman from Medford, Ore., will compete at the 2011 USA Junior Cross Country Championships Saturday, February 5, at Mission Bay Park in San Diego... meet also serve as trials race to select Team USA squad to compete at 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, March 20, 2011, in Punta Umbria, Spain, and at North America, Central American, & Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships, February 19, 2011, in Tobago...WSU's Andrew Kimpel (sophomore, Spokane) placed fourth in men's 2010 Junior USA Cross Country Championships 8k, and placed 54th in junior race at IAAF World Cross Country Championships, in Bydgoszcz, Poland...Cougar Cross Country Coach Pete Julian was a member of the U.S. World Cross Country team in 1997 and 1998... results will be posted at www.usatf.org/events/2011/USAXCChampionships.

ANDERSON ON BOWERMAN LIST
WSU senior Jeshua Anderson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) is one of 10 male collegiate track and field athletes named to the official preseason watch list for the 2011 awarding of The Bowerman as selected by The Bowerman Men's Watch Committee, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Jan. 12...the Bowerman is an award bestowed to the nation's top collegiate men's and women's track and field athlete each year at the USTFCCCA annual convention in December...the Bowerman is named in honor of track and field pioneer Bill Bowerman, who served the sport of track and field in numerous ways, including his leadership in the USTFCCCA's predecessor organization, the National Collegiate Track Coaches Association, and his contributions to NCAA track and field and the running community as a whole...initial awards given in 2009...complete 2011 Watch List for men and women is at www.thebowerman.org.
