Hey Cougs this is your men's track and field captain Jon Jeffreys. First off I would like to thank the athletic department for the opportunity to be able to write blogs on how our season is going and our lives as a student athlete.

Last weekend was our third competition of the year outdoors and so far it has been going well for the overall team. Part of team and I were at the Texas Relays this last weekend and had a breakout performance, just about everyone had PRs and seasonal bests. This meet, I would have to say, is one of my favorites from the twenty to twenty five thousand people in the stands watching to the beautiful Texas sun. There is not many other feelings like this one all year.

My season so far has been very promising with consistency and a new lifetime best last week. This PR for me has been a long time coming from a two-year wait, UGH. From the men's standpoint we have a very solid team and look to finally win a Husky dual and score high in the Pac-10 Championships. Those dogs have skunked our team since my freshman year, but this year we are strong in too many events.

Being a student athlete in many cases can be a tough and demanding thing so to lesson the load on my shoulders I have taken the tougher classes in the fall and the easy ones in the spring. Plus I take less credits during the spring and just make them up during the summer. Pullman is a great place to be in the summer.

Most of the team is in UCLA this weekend, competing Thursday thru Saturday. I am taking the weekend off to rest and prepare for the Mt. Sac Relays in two weeks. Good luck to the team this weekend!!!

Peace, Jon
