PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University tennis player Andjela Kankaras fell in the second round of the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China Wednesday.
Kankaras, who opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, fell to Ganna Piven of the Ukraine, 6-0, 6-4, in the seocnd round. Piven, the 11th seed, entered the tournament with a world ranking of 468.
Kankaras will now prepare for junior season at Washington State, where she will be the Cougars' team captain. WSU opens its fall season Sept. 16 at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.
