All-American Swings Her Way into the Top 25 After Final Round of West Regional

AUBURN, Wash. - It was a day for the record books as All-American women's golfer Anastasia Kostina garnered her 12th consecutive top-25 finish of the season after shooting a final round score 74 (+2) at the NCAA Division I Women's West Regional, held at the par-72, 6,289 yard Washington National Golf Club, Saturday.

The senior entered the final round two shots out of the top 25, but battled her way up the charts, firing her best round of the tournament and knocking three shots off of her second round score. Kostina's efforts catapulted her six spots up the charts to finish the tournament in a tie for 24th. The Nakhabino, Russia native's performance also moved her up in the Cougar record books as she now shares the top spot for top-25 single season finishes with graduated Cougar great, Kim Welch.

Freshman Amy Eneroth clawed her way up eight spots on the charts after firing her tournament best 76 (+4), slashing two stokes off of her second round score, to finish the tournament in a tie for 40th. The Spokane, Wash. native tops the freshman scoring average charts with a season average 76.0, knocking Kim Welch out of the top spot (76.1). Her average also nabs her sixth place in the Cougar record books for single season scoring average, finishing behind teammate Kostina and Welch.

Freshman Haley Parsons fired a combined total 245 (+29), to finish the three-day competition in sole possession of 92nd. Fellow Cougar Jessica Black left her mark left on the course as she shot a hole-in-one on the par-3 No.11 hole, landing her in a tie for 101st with teammate Tracy Broders.

As a team, the Cougars shot their best combined round of the tournament 313 (+25), cutting five strokes off of their second round score, putting them in a tie for 18th. Taking the West Regional title was Purdue, who shot a three-day total 881 (+17), edging out UCLA by five strokes. Rounding out the 21-team field was Bradley with a combined score of 967 (+103).
