COUGARS CROSS COLUMBIA FOR NCAA WEST REGIONALS
The Washington State University cross country teams will bus to the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon, area this week for the NCAA West Regional Championships at the Springfield Country Club Saturday, Nov. 13...women run a 6,000 meters course beginning at 9:45 a.m. and the men run an 10,000 meters course starting at 10:45 a.m....results will be posted on wsucougars.com, when available.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS - NOV. 22, TERRE HAUTE, IND.
Thirty-one teams and 38 additional individual qualifiers per gender (a total of 255 runners per gender) compete...top two teams at each of nine regional meets (seven-person teams) automatically qualify...13 additional at-large teams are selected by committee, Nov. 14...first four individuals from each region (36 total) who are not on a qualifying team automatically advance to the finals...two additional at-large individuals are selected by committee...all individual qualifiers must finish in the top 25 in their regions...announcement will be posted on the NCAA Web sites (www.ncaa.com) by 4 p.m. PT Nov. 14.

ABOUT THE COURSE
The Springfield Country Club is described as one of Oregon's premier golf courses... course consists of three relatively flat loops - an outer loop, an inner loop, and a finish loop...outer loop is approximately 2,320 meters in length, the inner loop is approximately 2,150 meters in length, and the finishing loop is approximately 1,350 meters in length... athletes will race entirely on grass and mostly on fairways...spikes are recommended for competition...Springfield Country Club is located at 90333 Sunderman Road in Springfield, Ore., about 15 minutes east of Interstate 5.

JULIAN LEADING THE WAY
Second-year Cougar coach Pete Julian came to Washington State in August 2009 after a highly successful coaching stint at Metro State in Denver...the 2010 incoming freshman class is his first fully-recruited class at WSU and one he claims is the most talented in the last two decades...volunteer assistant coach Tim Riley returns for his second season.
