THIS WEEK: Washington State will take to Ojai, Calif., for the Pac-10 Championships/Invitational...No. 51 Ekaterina Burduli, Orsolya Sallai and Chris Martinez will participate in the Championships...doubles teams of Martinez/Sallai and Burduli/Nora Gaal are also in the Championship bracket...Gaal will enjoy a No. 8 seed in the Invitational...Amy Toth and Aleksandra Stefanova will also participate in the Invite...Toth/Stefanova will compete in doubles at the Invite.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: "Ekaterina (Burduli) still has a shot to make it individually. Hopefully she'll get a chance to move up in those rankings and get to go (to the NCAA's)."

COUGARS CLIMB ALL-TIME LIST: Senior Nora Gaal sits in sixth place on the all-time career singles victories list with 70...Gaal is one victory away from tying former teammate Lorena Arias who sits in the fifth spot with 71 career singles victories...fellow senior Chris Martinez also continues to elevate herself up the list...she has 69 career singles victories which is good enough for seventh on the all-time list.

TOUGH COMPETITION: The Cougars faced 15 ranked opponents out of the 23 teams they met in dual match play.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars fell twice to ranked Pac-10 foes...Friday, April 15 Washington State fell to No. 22 Washington 5-2...both No. 71 Ekaterina Burduli and Orsolya Sallai recorded wins against their ranked singles opponents...Burduli upset No. 15 Dea Sumantri for the second time this season 6-7, 6-2, 1-0(8) and Sallai put down No. 54 Dinka Hadzic 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(7)...against No. 29 Oregon April 17 the Cougs lost 6-1...the lone scoring win for WSU was Amy Toth's victory over Anna Leksinska 2-6, 6-3, 1-0(9).

FRESHMAN IMPACT: After joining the Cougar family in January Ekaterina Burduli has already begun to make her mark on Cougar tennis...upset No. 6 Dea Sumantri of Washington March 20 and routed No. 15 Sumantri again April 15...she currently sits at No. 51 nationally in singles.
