WASHINGTON STATE NOTES

-- The Cougars' 15-play, 84-yard opening drive for a touchdown marks the third time in four games this season Washington State has scored a touchdown on its first possession...the drive was the seventh scoring drive of the season of 80 or more yards...WSU has now scored on drives of 80 yards or more in 29 of its last 30 games.

-- With three receptions, senior wide receiver Michael Bumpus moved into second place on the WSU career list...Bumpus now has 150 career receptions and trails only Hugh Campbell (176) all-time.

-- Michael Bumpus' 20-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter gives him back-to-back games with a touchdown for the first time in his career...his three touchdowns this season are a single-season best for the senior wide receiver.

-- Alex Brink's touchdown pass to Jed Collins in the first quarter marks the 72nd time in the last 76 games that WSU has thrown a touchdown pass...the touchdown was the fifth of Collins' career and second this season.

-- With two touchdown passes against the Trojans, Alex Brink has now thrown multiple touchdown passes in 18 games...Brink has touchdown passes in 30 games over the course of his career, and now trails Jason Gesser by only one game on the WSU all-time list.

-- Brink now has touchdown passes in nine consecutive games, the second longest streak of his career...Brink threw touchdown passes in 12 consecutive games spanning the final five games of his freshman year and the first seven games of his sophomore year.

-- WSU has scored in 265 games, the second longest active streak and the fifth longest all-time...WSU has also scored in 246 consecutive Pac-10 games, the longest active streak for any league team.

-- Charles Dillon's 48-yard kick return in the first quarter was the longest by a Cougar since Sept. 20, 2003 (Sammy Moore, 48 yards - New Mexico).

-- Husain Abdullah's second quarter interception was his second of the season and eighth of his career...the interception gives him picks in back-to-back games for the second time of his career...Abdullah is now tied for 13th on the WSU all-time list for interceptions in a career.

-- The loss to USC is just the second loss in the Cougars' last seven conference openers.

-- Chima Nwachukwu's career-high 13 tackles against the Trojans ties the Cougars' season high.
