PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University sophomore Erica Perkins (Seattle, Wash.) has drawn the number four seeded singles player in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships Monday (May 24) at the University of Florida's Linder Stadium.
That's the bad news. The good news is Perkins, 20-16, will be matched against an opponent she has already defeated this season, Fresno State's Dora Djilianova.
The two West Coast stars faced off back in February and Perkins came away a 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 winner in a match won by the Bulldogs 5-4 at Las Vegas.
The winner of the Perkins-Djilianova matchup, which is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT, will play the winner of the Angela Lawrence-Ivona Mihailova match Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.
