All-American Golfer Sits in Top-10 After First Round at Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - Washington State women's golfer Anastasia Kostina holds on to a spot in the top-10 after completing the first round at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate, held at the par-71, 6,025 yard Stanford Golf Course, Oct. 21.

All-American Anastasia Kostina currently leads the Cougars after firing a 72 (+1) during the opening round of the three-day tournament, putting her in an eight-way tie for 10th. The senior's efforts put her just two shots out of the top-5, and four behind the top spot.

The Cougars opened the tournament shooting 312 (+28) on the day, putting them in 16th. As a team, the Cougs sit behind 10 teams ranked in the top-25, including No.1 Duke and No.4 UCLA, and currently rest one shot behind No. 27 Oregon and three ahead of No.43 Tulsa.

Heading into the second round, sophomore Tracy Broders sits in a tie for 62nd, while teammate Amy Eneroth is knotted at 66th. Freshman Jessica Black made her debut as a Cougar finishing the first round tied at 89th, while Brooke Henderson sits in a tie for 99th to round out the Cougar contingent.

The second round of the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate will begin at 7:30 a.m., Saturday.
