PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State women's tennis team earned a No. 38 national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday.
The ranking is the first of the season for the Cougars, who entered the top 40 following upsets of then No. 26 Arizona and No. 27 Arizona State. The last Cougar tennis ranking came April 26, 2011 when WSU was No. 75. The Cougars' current ranking is their highest since being ranked No. 34 March 9, 2008.
The Cougars have posted a 12-4 record this season, 2-2 in Pac-12 Conference play. They return to the court this weekend when they travel to face California, Saturday at noon in Berkeley.
