PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Tennis Coach Lisa Hart announced the signing of Maria Ring to a National Letter of Intent, Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004.

Ring will join the Cougar family in the fall of 2005. She will come to WSU from Linghem, Sweden where she is currently ranked eleventh in the country. Ring has been a Doubles Finalist in the Sweden National Championships three times and four times she has been a Doubles Finalist in International Tennis Federation tournaments.

"I am very excited about becoming a Cougar," Ring said. "I know the coaching staff has so much to offer me and WSU itself seems like a wonderful place to spend the next four years."

Coach Hart is excited about getting Ring.

"Maria is an exceptionally talented tennis player and athlete who will make an immediate impact on our program," Hart said. "She is a proven winner on the court and will bring a wealth of experience to our team, especially in doubles."
