FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Washington State University swimmer Rugile Mileisyte competed in the 2011 Pacific-10 Invitational, Sunday.
The senior from Alytus, Lithuania stayed an extra day after the Pac-10 Championships in an attempt to bring down her 50 freestyle time. Mileisyte swam three times within an hour, improving each race. Her fastest time was 22.92 seconds.
WSU head coach Erica Quam said both Mileisyte and fellow senior Talor Whitaker will continue their training for the USA Swimming Grand Prix meet in Ann Arbor, Mich. Mileisyte will be focused on achieving her qualification time for the World Championships this summer, while Whitaker attempts to qualify for the Olympic Trials.
