Washington State University hosts the University of Washington for the Apple Cup of women's swimming Thursday, November 16, beginning 7 p.m. at Gibb Pool in Pullman.

The Cougars have a 5-1 record this season, but are 0-21-1 all-time against the Huskies.

"This is a great intrastate rivalry, but up to this point we haven't proved to be a rival," WSU coach Rocco Aceto said. "We are honored to compete with a team that has such a prolific winning streak."

WSU is coming off an impressive 185-76 rout over San Jose State November 4 in Pullman.

"Our team has learned how to train aggressively," Aceto said. "In the last meet, we began to race aggressively."

This week's meet will be in an 11-event format, the same format used in the meet against South Carolina, a 119-86 Cougar win October 21. A 14-event format was used in the Cougars' most recent meet against San Jose State.
