What's Happening This Week: The Washington State women's tennis team will open the 2011-12 season at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan., Sept. 16-18. The Kansas Invitational marks the first of three tournaments the Cougars will participate in this fall.

The Field: The 9-team tournament includes Arkansas State, Colorado, Kansas, UMKC, Kentucky, Northwestern State, Saint Louis, South Dakota and Washington State.

Traveling for the Cougars: Elisabeth Fournier, Ksenia Googe, Andjela Kankaras, Charlotte Koning, Elizaveta Luzina, Olga Musilovich, Anastasia Romantsova and Liudmila Vasilieva.

Senior Success: Fournier earned an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles pre-season ranking of 111, the only Cougar to do so.

Matches begin Friday at 9 a.m. Results will be available online at
