PULLMAN, Wash. -- Sophomore David Adams (Tacoma, Wash.) connected on a three-pointer with 12 seconds left to give Washington State a 70-67 win over Lewis-Clark State College in an exhibition game Wednesday night.

Adams finished the game with nine points while four teammates scored in double figures led by a game-high 19 from senior Eddie Miller (Reseda, Calif.). Miller just missed a double-double, pulling down a game-high nine rebounds.

"It (the game-winning play) wasn't designed to go to David," WSU head coach Paul Graham said. "Because the defense bit on what we ran, the shot was there."

Adams' trey capped a comeback after the Cougars trailed 61-57 with 4:26 to play. A jumper and a layup by Adams tied the game at 61-61 with 2:53 left and junior Framecio Little (Anderson, S.C.) gave WSU the lead 63-61 on with a layup at the 2:28 mark.

Isaac Castro, who finished with a team-high 16 points for the Warriors, tied the game on a layup and Jared Rice's jumper with 1:43 remaining put LCSC on top 65-63.

A pair of free throws by Little (10 points) and freshman Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.) gave WSU a 67-65 advantage with 46 seconds left before Castro tied the game on a jumper with 33 ticks on the clock setting the stage for Adams' heroics.

"In the first half, we were a little nervous," Graham said. "We have a lot of guys who haven't played in a while. I am pleased with the way we responded in a close game."

Sophomore Jerry McNair (Torrance, Calif.) and junior J Locklier (Rock Hill, S.C.) added 14 and 12 points, respectively for the Cougars.

Washington State closes out its exhibition season by hosting Sports Tours, November 14 at 7 p.m.
