PULLMAN, Wash. – Uri Farkas has been named Washington State Athletics’ Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving, Cougar Director of Athletics Bill Moos announced Tuesday. Farkas began his duties in Pullman Monday, Aug. 11.
“Uri has a proven background in development in both collegiate athletics and at the university level and will be a tremendous addition to Cougar Athletics,” said Moos. “I am certain that Uri will help us continue to build on the record-setting growth our annual giving program has experienced the last few years and his leadership will be key as we continue to grow the CAF.”
Farkas has a strong external background in collegiate athletics and higher education, coming from the University of California where he oversaw major gift fundraising and was heavily involved in the strategy and implementation of the annual giving program. Prior to Cal, Farkas spent five years at the University of Oregon, first as Chief Operating Officer for the University’s Alumni Association, then as Director of Development.
Farkas holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Montana and a master’s in sport management from Ohio State University.
