And he addressed the football team after practice.
After his vist to Martin Stadium, Trufant headed to the Strikes for Scholarships event, organized and marketed by students in the WSU Sports Management program.
In addition to bowling, there was a silent auction and Trufant signed autographs.
Trufant also got a chance to bowl, and was able to get some strikes of his own.
"I want to give back to the youth, inspire the youth, and help the youth in any way possible," said Trufant.
Trufant was inspired to launch the foundation by his experiences with the Boys and Girls Club when he was a youth.
"I want to return the favor," he said.
Trufant plans to direct proceeds from Saturday's event to fund a college scholarship for a deserving student to come to WSU.
Trufant finished his WSU career with 201 tackles and 11 interceptions, good for sixth on the WSU career list. He was the 11th pick in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft by Seattle and played for the Seahawks from 2003 to 2012. He was voted to the Seahawks' 35th anniversary team by readers of Seahawks.com.
