PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University men’s and women’s basketball teams will take part in the fifth-annual ZZUMania, Friday, Oct. 11 at Bohler Gym. Admission is free and activities will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m., following WSU volleyball’s match against Arizona State, which is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
The event, in its fifth-straight year, will kick off with an introduction of the women’s basketball team featuring words from head coach June Daugherty. Following the introductions, the women’s team will put on a shooting exhibition. After the women’s shooting exhibition, the men’s team will hit the court for warmups, followed by words from head coach Ken Bone and then player introductions. Members of the team will participate in a 3-point contest before the event concludes with the dunk contest.
Between the men’s and women’s portions of the event, one lucky student will have the chance to win $500 from the Bookie in a half-court shot contest.
Cougar men’s basketball in-game host, Jamie Patrick, will serve as the ZZUMania host, while the WSU Drumline will make a special appearance.
ZZUMania is one event in a ‘Dad’s Weekend’ full of WSU Athletics’ events, beginning with the WSU soccer team hosting Colorado, Friday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at Lower Soccer Field, and volleyball’s match against Arizona State at 6 p.m. at Bohler Gym. The next evening, Saturday, Oct. 12, the Cougar football team hosts Oregon State at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Stadium. Sunday, soccer hosts Utah at 11 a.m., while volleyball plays host to Arizona at 1 p.m. Sunday.
