Coached by Marty Johnson at Sheldon High...capped a spectacular career by leading Sheldon to the state championship as a SENIOR...threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 57 more and another score in 31-24 win over Lake Oswego in state title game...tossed four touchdown passes and racked up 384 yards in semifinal victory over Clackamas...threw for 3,946 yards in his final season with the Irish, including 36 touchdowns...earned first team all-league and all-state honors, and was named Oregon player of the year...ranked No. 72 quarterback in the nation by The Insiders...named Northwest Nuggett honorable mention by Tacoma News Tribune...named to Tacoma News Tribune's Western 100...JUNIOR season led team to state title game...threw for over 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns, earning first team All-State honors and Midwestern League offensive player of the year...finished with a record of 35-3 in three years as starting quarterback...also a standout on the baseball diamond...hit a grand slam and pitched a complete game in a contest against Willamette as a junior...earned first team All-Midwestern League honors as pitcher...also lettered in basketball.

• In the Pac-10, ranked 9th in passing at 130.5 ypg, 10th in total offense at 125.5 ypg and 7th in pass efficiency at 113.26;
• Nationally finished 75th in pass efficiency;
• Saw action in the first six games as the holder on PAT and field goal kicks;
• In final three games, all starts and two wins, completed 52 of 88 passes (59.1%) for 661 yards and four touchdowns, with only one interception;
• Saw considerable action in the Colorado game and led WSU inside the 10 yard line at the end of the game, but lost a fumble at the two yard line trying to score and give the Cougars a chance to tie the game;
• Made first start at Oregon State after Josh Swogger was lost for the season with a broken foot...hit 15 of 41 passes for 201 yards, one score and two interceptions, one on a tipped pass...TD pass was to Greg Prator;
• Made his second start against #1 ranked USC...threw one interception...had one TD pass to Michael Bumpus;
• With the running game working, completed 17 of 27 for one score, 185 yards and no interceptions in WSU's win at UCLA;
• Directed WSU to a 28-25 win over Washington, throwing for 240 yards and one touchdown.

• His outings against OSU and Cal rank among the best in Pacific-10 history; his 531 passing yards is the fourth best total ever in the league, while 423 passing yards ranked 40th; his 515 total offense yards at OSU is the second best by a Pac-10 quarterback and the 424 yards at Cal ranked 35th;
• Final-season NCAA QB ranking of 139.96 is the best ever by a sophomore QB with more than 100 pass attempts.
• Ranked 19th nationally in total offense;
• Final Pacific-10 rankings: Passing 4th/262.6, Total Offense 2nd/272.4, Passing Efficiency 4th/139.96.

• Posted a pass efficiency rating of 133.14 while completing 241 passes I n 396 attempts for 2,899 yards and 19 touchdowns...threw just 10 interceptions;
• In Pac-10 rankings, led the league in total offense, 242.2 yards per game, was second in passing at 241.6 ypg, and fourth in passing efficiency;
• Nationally, ranked 18th in total offense and 37th in passing efficiency;
• Had a gaudy quarterback rating of 275.36 against Idaho while playing less than three quarters;
• Threw for a season-high 287 yards against USC; • Caught a four-yard TD pass from Dwight Tardy against Baylor, the first WSU quarterback to catch a TD pass since Bob Iverson did it against Stanford in 1954;

• In a win at UCLA threw for 405 yards, the eighth best in WSU history and his third career 400+ yard game;
• Against Arizona threw the second longest pass in WSU history, a 91-yarder to Brandon Gibson;
• Recorded season and career highs with 32 completions and 54 pass attempts against Washington...threw for 328 yards, his fourth career game over 300 yards;
