Abe Silvestri is in his second year as a member of the Washington State University baseball staff. He serves as the coordinator of baseball operations.

A native of Stanwood, Wash., Silvestri began his coaching career as an assistant at Ellensburg (Wash.) High School in 2007. He moved to the collegiate ranks as the volunteer coach at Central Washington in 2008. He was promoted to assistant coach in 2009 and spent four seasons in that role with the Wildcats.

Off the field, Silvestri was the athletic director at Cle Elum-Roslyn (Wash.) High School from 2011-13. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington in 2009 and his master’s degree in athletic administration from CWU in 2013.

Silvestri is reunited with Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut, having played for Marbut at Edmonds (Wash.) Community College, 2000-02.

Duties for Silvestri include coordinating scout day, alumni functions, travel, serving as a liaison with the athletic department and university, and assisting with camps.

He and his wife, Chelsea, have two children, Henry and Augustus.
