KERNS' WASHINGTON STATE CAREER

CAREER: With 240 career assists, ranks eighth on WSU's all-time list...has played in 88 career games.

RS-JUNIOR (1998-99): Came off the bench in all 27 games to rank fourth in scoring, 9.3 points...one of eight players to average more than 20 minutes a game (22.2)...ranked sixth in the Pac-10 in three-point shooting (37.3%)...scored better in league play (10.3) than for the season (9.3)...career high 19 points at ASU, making 8-of-12 shots, including two treys...had 32 points in back-to-back games, UCLA and ASU...hit 4-of-5 treys to score 13 at UCLA, all in the second half...scored 17 points at Washington and 17 at Stanford...scored 123 points in last 10 games while hitting 43-of-87 (.494) from the field, 23-of-51 (.451) treys....averaged 14.3 points in last four games.

RS-SOPHOMORE (1997-98): Moved into a starting role late in the season and finished with four starts after coming off the bench 23 times...fourth in scoring, averaging 8.5 points...led team with 97 assists and also with 147 turnovers...scored 10 or more points 13 time, including 17 against Wyoming and Stanford and 16 at Arizona State...hit 11-of-12 free throws at home against Oregon State...handed out a career-high 11 (eighth best ever at WSU) assists against Washington to open Pac-10 play...one of team's top free throw shooters at 73.0% overall and 76.1% in league play...scored 21 points and handed out eight assists with only four turnovers in back-to-back games at Oregon and OSU...over last seven games of the season averaged 12.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 28-of-37 free throws (75.7%) and 23-of-56 field goals (41.1%).

RS-Sophomore: Averaged 20 minutes per game in WSU's first five games (no starts) before breaking a bone in left wrist during an exhibition game with the Portland Saints...surgery was required to insert a screw to stabilize the injury...averaged 6.8 points, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals in those five games...WSU's best offensive threat at point...hit 50% of three-point field goals and was an 80% free throw shooter prior to the injury...best offensive output was a career-high 11 points against Fresno State...had six assists against Idaho...loss left the Cougs with just one point guard, Jade Hyett....also provided vital leadership early in the season.

FRESHMAN (1995-96): Scored career-high eight points against Oregon, hitting all eight free throw attempts...grabbed six rebounds versus Oregon and five in a win at Boise State...handed out six assists at UCLA and five against both Oral Roberts and California...played a season-high 24 minutes at Oral Roberts...made two of her three shots in season's final game, a win over UCLA...played in all 29 games, averaging 14 minutes per contest...shot 71% at the line.

KERNS' HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Led two different high school teams (Coeur d'Alene High and Lake City High) to three state championships in her four-year career...as a FRESHMAN named to the Inland Empire All-League team after leading Coeur d'Alene High to the state championship...22-4 record...during SOPHOMORE season helped Cd'A team win a second regional title and a third place finish at the state tourney...20-5 record...named to the all-league team a second time and was an All-North Idaho pick...also named to the Idaho A-1 All-State tournament team and the All-State team...led Cd'A to another state title as a JUNIOR with perfect 25-0 record...named the leagues MVP winner...selected to numerous regional and national teams, including All-North Idaho Region, Idaho A-1 Sate Tournament, Idaho All-State, USA Today All-America honorable mention...picked Idaho's Female Athlete-of-the-Year...inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame...SENIOR year moved to the new Lake City High and led team to the State A-1 championship...24-1 record...repeat member of the all-league and All-North Idaho teams...also repeated as leagues MVP...Inland Empire Junior Female Amateur Athlete of the Year nominee for 1994...again named to the Idaho A-1 State Tournament and All-State teams and was named the 1995 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year.
