DIETEL'S WASHINGTON STATE CAREER

CAREER: Enters the season as a senior after NCAA ruling one of her years in Germany counts against her eligibility.

SOPHOMORE (1998-99): A member of Germany's national team during the summer...WSU's number two scorer and top rebounder through the first 14 games...tore ACL and MCL of right knee Jan. 20, a day before WSU hosted Stanford...underwent surgery Jan. 29...at the time of the injury, was ranked third in Pac-10 scoring and fifth in rebounding...also among league's top shooters, ranking fourth in free throw percentage (.778) and sixth in three-point shooting (.372)...named to the GTE academic all-district third team and to the Pac-10 Conference honorable mention academic team...ranks 11th in career treys at WSU with 64...her 35 treys in 14 games seven short on one-season list...recorded four double-doubles, including back-to-back DDs against Arizona (15 points, 10 rebounds) and ASU (10/10)...also at Vermont (27/10) and against Colorado (26/11).

FRESHMAN (1997-98): Started all 27 games...named the Pacific-10 Conference's Freshman of the Year after averaging 13.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in league play...Also selected to All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention team...WSU's second leading scorer (12.2) and number two in rebounds (4.4)...led the club in blocked shots (18) and number two in steals (38) while averaging 26.3 minutes of playing time...scored 10 or more points 15 times during the 27 games, including a season-high 23 against UCLA and 22 against both Washington and Arizona State...season-high 12 rebounds against Idaho and 11 in a Cougar win at Arizona when she had her only double-double of the year, scoring 17...shot over 46% after the first two games of the year when she was 0-for-8 at Colorado State and 1-for-4 at Wyoming...named to all-tournament teams at the Dial Classic and the Kona Classic...season-high five treys in her 23-point performance against UCLA...during a stretch of eight conference games, averaged 15.5 points and hit 16 of her season-total 29 treys...over the final four games of the Pac-10 season averaged 7.3 points.
