PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University will host the second annual "Cougs Have Heart" women's basketball game Friday, Feb. 6, against Stanford. Tip-off for the match-up with the Cardinal will be at 7 p.m. at Friel Court.
The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a free, exclusive Cougs Have Heart T-shirt.
WSU Head Coach June Daugherty will also be accepting the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association's Public Spirit Award, which she was honored with this past September in recognition of significant contributions in the field of sudden cardiac arrest awareness and prevention. In subsequent years the award will be called the June Daugherty Public Spirit Award.
Daugherty, a survivor of sudden cardiac arrest, has been one of the nation's most visible spokespeople for heart health awareness since returning to the coaching sidelines.
Cougs Have Heart is presented by The Hope Heart Institute, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's Hospital, St. Jude's Medical, Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, Pullman Regional Hospital and Moscow Mountain Sport and Physical Therapy.
