The Cougars just completed their first season under Head Coach Sherri Murrell. Under Murrell, who came to WSU after directing the University of the Pacific to four consecutive winning seasons, home attendance increased by nearly 30 percent from the 2001-02 season.
Among the season highlights for the Cougars was the play of junior Bianca McCall, who earned an All-Pac-10 honorable mention selection. McCall registered nine double-doubles during the season, which was third in the Pac-10. At one point - from Jan. 11 to Jan. 25, - McCall ran together a string of five consecutive double-doubles and her six 20-point games finished tied for eighth in the conference.
In addition, Lindsey Egeland was selected to the All-Pac-10 Academic first team marking the fourth consecutive year that the Cougars have had a representative on the first team. Holly Harris and Emma Joneby earned honorable mention selections to the team as well.
