TANO'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Earned six varsity letters at Kamehameha High…four came with coach Dan Kitashima's volleyball powerhouse program…only competed in track for coach Pete Medertzma during her sophomore and senior years after a very successful "junior" career as a long and triple jumper…as a SOPHOMORE, the Warriors volleyball team won the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and the state championship…named to All-ILH and all-state second teams…at the Haili Touranment, won Women's All Star Award…during her JUNIOR season, Kamehameha volleyball team repeated as ILH and state champions…earned first team All-ILH and first team all-state…earned all-tournament team honors at Reno tourney…SENIOR year, the Warriors again captured the ILH and state volleyball titles…team received #1 national ranking for prep girls volleyball teams from Vball.com…repeated with first team all-league and all-state honors…also garnered all-tournament selection at Durango-Maui Life Tournament at Las Vegas.

Nohealani Robin Peterson Tano was born September 26, 1982, at Kailua, Hawaii…father Ken is a retired major in the Honolulu Police Department who now works with the Department of Justice…mother Candy is a nurse working in the Ethics and Compliance department of Straub Hospital…five older brothers - Ken Jr. (1967), Dustin (1969), Kimo (1969), Erik (1970), and Kawika (1977) - and one sister, Kiana (1971)…cousin Tari Beck was an outstanding soccer player at WSU (1993-96 seasons)…enjoys beach volleyball and teaching volleyball to children…has done print and TV modeling…a member of the Asics Rainbow Volleyball Club with coaches Charlie Wade and Danny Alvarez…planning to major in elementary education at WSU.
