SEATTLE, Wash. -- Thalo Green tallied a game-high 21 points to lead Washington to a 78-72 Pacific-10 Conference victory over Washington State Saturday afternoon.

The loss extended the Cougars Pac-10 road losing streak to a record 30 games.

Washington State (8-11, 1-8) was led by a season and career-high 16 points from junior Framecio Little (Anderson, S.C.). Leading scorer Mike Bush (Riverside, Calif.) added 14 points as did reserve sophomore Jerry McNair (Torrance, Calif.). Freshman Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.) chipped in 13 points.

Washington bolted out to a 15-2 lead just over six minutes into the game and led by as many as 15 points in the first half before taking a 38-25 lead at halftime.

Curtis Allen hit two free throws after a technical foul on the WSU bench with 19:42 to play to increase the Huskies (9-12, 3-6) lead to 40-25 before the Cougars went on a 25-12 run to pull within 52-50 at the 10:47 mark.

Little, McNair and Moore each had six points during the spurt. Moments later, McNair drilled a three-pointer to close the deficit to 54-53 with 9:33 to play.

The Huskies pulled out to a 69-61 advantage with 3:43 left, but the Cougars responded with a 9-1 run to close the gap to 70-68 with 2:13 left in the game.

However, Curtis Allen drained a three-pointer with 1:47 left to push the lead back to five at 73-68 and the Cougars got no closer.

"You can't come out on the road and get behind 15-2 and 13 points at the half and then decide to play," WSU head coach Paul Graham said.

The Cougars play at Arizona State next Thursday at 7 p.m. MST.
