SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Washington State women's golf team is currently in 18th place after day one at the Bruin Wave Invitational. The team posted a 330 (+42) at the par-72, 6,282-yard Robinson Ranch Golf Club.

Redshirt junior Allison Travis posted the lowest round for the team with a 77 (+5) and is currently tied for 49th. Travis is only three strokes back from being in the top-25.

Freshman Emma Betland is currently second on the team with a first round score of 81 (+9). Sophomore Kristen Allard posted an 83 (+11) and freshman Ellen Park carded a 89 (+17).

Freshman Ali Thompson, who has led the Cougars in every event so far this year, was disqualified in the first round due to a scorecard error realized after the round. Thompson would have carded a 72 (E).

The second round of the Bruin Wave Invitational will continue tomorrow with tee times starting at 8 a.m.

WSU Results: Allison Travis (77, +5), Emma Betland (81, +9), Kristen Allard (83, +11), Ellen Park (89, +17) and Ali Thompson (D).
