BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Washington State women's golf team jumped two teams in the final day of the UNLV Spring Invitational. The team continued to improve each day of the tournament ending the first day in 18th place and finally landing in 15th by tournaments end. The Cougars posted a 318 (+30) in the final day which was enough to edge Oregon State and New Mexico State by one stroke, ending with a tournament total of 934 (+70).

Sophomore Kristen Allard led the team throughout the tournament posting a 75 (+3) in the final day. Her three-round total of 222 (+6) is the lowest of her career and is the second-lowest tournament total on the season, only behind freshman Ali Thompson's 214 (+4) in the Challenge at Onion Creek. Allard finished in a tie for 17th making it her third top-25 finish on the season and her sixth of her career. She was only two strokes away from making it her second top-10 finish, this is the second time this season Allard has led the team with her three-round total.

Freshman Emma Betland finished in a tie 72nd with a final round of 84 (+12) for a tournament total of 237 (+21). Fellow Freshman Ellen Park had her best tournament of her collegiate career with a final round of 81 (+9). Park's three round total of 238 (+22) is the lowest of her career by seven strokes when she fired a 245 (+29) at the season opener Inland Cup.

Freshman Ali Thompson posted a 79 (+7) in the final round for a tournament total of 239 (+23). Teammate Allison Travis was close behind with a tournament total of 242 (+26) and a final round score of 83 (+11).

In a tough field with six ranked teams at the par-72, 6,246-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club the Cougars tournament total of 934 (+70) is their third best finish on the season.

The WSU women continue their spring season on March, 26 at the Mountain View Intercollegiate in Tuscan Ariz.
