PULLMAN, Wash.- Registration for all three 2012 Washington State University men's basketball camps are currently available online at www.wsucougars.com.
The summer will kick off with the Elite Camp, open to ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th graders in high school (classes as of the fall of 2012). The camp costs $130 per camper and will be held June 16-17. Meals and housing are included. The camp is designed for young men who are serious about basketball and includes instructional sessions by the WSU coaching staff and current WSU men's basketball student-athletes, covering the concepts and fundamentals of basketball on both the offensive and defensive ends. Each camper will participate in 5-on-5 games each day as well and will receive individual instruction and personal feedback on skill development. Arrangements can be made with the men's basketball office for pick and drop off to and from the Spokane and Pullman airports.
The WSU Day Camp will take place June 18-21 and is open to boys and girls in second to eighth grade, costing $145 per camper. The camp will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch break from noon-1 p.m. Campers will need to bring their own lunch or money to purchase pizza, snacks and/or drinks at the camp. No housing will be provided for the Day Camp. The campers will be given daily instruction by WSU staff and student-athletes, learning basic offensive and defensive fundamentals, as well as participating in competitions.
Cougar Team Camp will be the final camp of the summer, held June 26-29. The camp is open to high school boys' teams, grades ninth through 12th. The teams will be divided into four groups based on grade and competition level. Team Camp costs $290 per player which also includes food and housing. Each day developmental and coaching clinics will be held for coaches and campers. The camp also includes games played indoor on campus, including Beasley Coliseum, complete with officials. Following games, the WSU coaching staff will be available for social hour. The camp will conclude with a tournament on the final day.
