PULLMAN-Wash. -- WSU senior forward Chris Crosby has been invited to compete in the 48th annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, April 5-8 in Portsmouth, Va.

Crosby, 6-8, 230-lbs., was one of 64 college seniors invited to compete in the prestigious event. Scouts from the NBA, CBA and international teams will be in attendance. The 64 players are divided into eight teams of eight and play a double-elimination tournament with the champion crowned on April 8. The top six-to-12 seniors will be invited to participate in the following week's Phoenix camp.

Crosby will be joined by several other well-known college seniors, including Richie Frahm of Gonzaga, David Moseley (Stanford), Jake Voskuhl (Connecticut), Shaheen Holloway (Seton Hall), Doug Gottleib (Oklahoma State), Brandon Kurtz (Tulsa), Brian Cardinal (Purdue), Marcus Goree (West Virginia) and Ceedric Goodwyn (Colorado State). Team rosters will be announced later in the week.

Last year, 12 of the 64 players who participated at Portsmouth were selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. Overall, more than 1,000 players have gone on to the NBA from the Portsmouth Invitational, including Spokane's John Stockton, as well as Rick Barry, Scottie Pippen and Dan Majerle.

Crosby recently finished his WSU career as the school's eighth leading scorer. He scored 1,333 career points and made 202 three-point field goals (fourth). The Littleton, Colo., native also ranks among WSU's top 10 in career free throw and three-point field goal percentage.

This season, Crosby was the Cougars' leading scorer at 15.8 points per game, which raked seventh in the Pac-10. He also averaged 3.8 rebounds per game and ranked among the league leaders in three-point field goal percentage (.404) and free throw percentage (.810).
