SPOKANE, Wash. - Dan Dickau scored 23 points to lead No. 25 Gonzaga to a 67-44 victory over Washington State on Saturday night.

Dickau hit 5-of-13 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free throw line as Gonzaga (9-2) held the Cougars to just 29.4 percent shooting from the field.

Cory Violette added 13 points and eight rebounds for Gonzaga. Zach Gourde and Ronny Turiaf each had 10 points. It was the first time in four games that Violette did not get a double-double.

Washington State (4-4) fell behind early as Dickau hit the first of his 3-pointers to open scoring. He made three of 10 3-pointers.

The Cougars trailed 40-25 at the half after pulling within 21-20. Gonzaga held WSU without a field goal over the final 8:49 and outscored WSU 19-5 to close the stanza.

Washington State outrebounded the Bulldogs 39-36. It was only the second time this season Gonzaga failed to dominate the boards.

The Bulldogs' defense forced 19 turnovers by the Cougars.

J Locklier led WSU with 13 points and nine rebounds. Milton Riley came off the bench to add 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

Marcus Moore, who entered the game averaging 15.3 points for WSU, was held to six points.

The Bulldogs shot 21-for-51 from the field, while the Cougars shot 15-for-51. Gonzaga shot 22-for-30 from the line. Washington State made 12 of 20 free throws.

Washington State pressed in the second half, holding the Bulldogs to 27 points, but managed just 19 points. The 44 points in the game were the fewest in a nonconference game for WSU since a 50-40 loss at Idaho, Nov. 29, 1988.

It was the first time the teams have met on the Gonzaga campus since 1977. Since then, games have been played at WSU's Friel Court, or at the former Spokane Coliseum and the new Spokane Arena.

The win was the third striaght for the Bulldogs in the series.
