PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University's men's basketball program will hold team, elite and day camps this summer beginning June 19, 2010.
Returning to the Palouse is Cougar Team Camp which will run from June 29 to July 2. The camp is open to high school boys' teams grades ninth through 12th. The teams will be divided into groups based on grade and competition level. Team Camp costs $290 per player which includes food and housing. The camp includes games played indoor on campus, including Beasley Coliseum, complete with officials. Throughout camp, WSU head coach Ken Bone and his staff will hold `Chalk Talk' sessions and social hours. The camp will conclude with a tournament on the final day.
The summer will kick off with the Elite Camp open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school (classes as of fall 2010). The camp will be held June 19-20 and includes meals and housing. The camp is designed for young men who are serious about basketball and includes instructional sessions by the staff covering the concepts of basketball both on the offensive and defensive ends. Each camper will participate in drills and 5-on-5 games daily.
The WSU Day Camp will take place June 22-25 and is open to boys and girls ages 8-14. The camp will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A lunch break will be held daily from noon-1 p.m. with pizza available for purchase. No housing will be provided for the Day Camp. The campers will be given daily instruction by WSU staff and student-athletes, learning basic offensive and defensive fundamentals, as well as competitions.
