PULLMAN, Wash. - Seven home dates and a game in Salt Lake City against perennial national power Utah highlights the non-conference portion of the Washington State men's basketball schedule, announced Friday by Cougar head coach Paul Graham.

The Cougars open their season against Portland State at Beasley Coliseum, Monday November 20. Other non-conference opponents that will visit Pullman include Maryland-Eastern Shore (Dec. 9), Montana (Dec. 12), Sacramento State (Dec. 23), Nevada (Dec. 30) and Texas-Pan American (Jan. 29).

WSU will host Colorado State at the Spokane Arena (Nov. 25) in a non-conference game and Arizona (Jan. 11) in its Pacific-10 home opener.

In addition to the game at Utah (Dec. 16), the Cougars will play road contests against Idaho (Nov. 29) and Portland (Dec. 5).

"I think our schedule is one our fans will enjoy," Graham said. "It's a tough schedule that will allow us to prepare for the Pac-10 portion of our schedule and allow our new players to adjust to our program.

"The games at Utah, versus Colorado State and Nevada will all be very, very good games that will be entertaining."

Washington State begins Pacific-10 play in Los Angeles against USC (Jan. 4) and UCLA (Jan. 6).
