KENNESAW, Ga. - Washington State University rising sophomore Kristen Allard won the Collegiate Players Tour / Pinetree Collegiate Open this past week at the Pinetree Country Club.
Allard finished with a three-round total of 227 (+11) at the par-72, 5,923-yard course, six strokes ahead of her nearest competitor, Lauren Uzelatz of Florida.
The Porterville, Calif., native finished day one in fifth place after an opening-round 78 (+6), and moved to the top of the leaderboard with a second-round 74 (+2) - tied for the lowest single-round score of the tournament.
Heading into the final round with a four-stroke lead, Allard posted the lowest score of the day - a 3-over 75 - staving off her competition.
Playing as a true freshman in 2008-09, Allard posted one top 10 and three top 25 finishes in 10 events for the Cougars.
