WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - In a rematch from last season, Washington State University men's basketball will host Kansas State, Friday, Dec. 3, at Pullman's Friel Court in the Big 12/Pac-10 Harwood Series, the two conferences announced Wednesday.

The Cougars are 1-2 in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series, which is in its fourth year, after falling to the Wildcats last season. In the inaugural year, WSU defeated Baylor, 67-64, Nov. 30, 2007, in Waco, Texas. In the return game in 2008-09, the 24th-ranked Bears defeated the Cougars, 58-52, Dec. 6 in Pullman.

The Wildcats improved to 1-2 in the Hardwood Series last season after defeating the Cougs, 86-69, Dec. 5 at Manhattan, Kan. The backcourt duo of Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente combined for 42 points for Kansas State, 21 apiece in the victory. WSU's Klay Thompson scored a game-high 22 points as he was 11-for-11 from the free throw line. K-State was swept by Oregon in the previous home-and-home series in the first two seasons of the series.

WSU is 2-3 all-time against Kansas State having won the last meeting in Pullman, 58-57, Dec. 3, 2005. A year prior, in the first game of the home-and-home series, K-State came out on top, 62-53 in Manhattan, Nov. 27, 2004. The 2005-06 matchup is the only one between the two teams played in Pullman. The Cougars are 10-16 all-time against current members of the Big 12 as they have not faced Iowa State or Oklahoma. Last season the Wildcats reached the West Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Butler, 63-56. KSU finished with a 29-8 overall record.

The majority of the 12 games in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood series are scheduled from Dec. 2-5, with just three taking place outside the four-day window. The matchups mirror the ones that took place in the fall of 2009, with the road team from a year ago hosting this season.

The Big 12 held a 9-3 advantage in the Hardwood Series last season and leads the three-year series, 20-16. In 2009, the 12 contests drew more than 110,000 fans. In the three years of the event, more than 355,000 fans have come through the turnstiles.

Additional components of the series, including the start times and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
