SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Washington State Women's golf team finished the Bruin Wave Invitational in 18th. The team continued to improve as the tournament progressed, with every round better than the previous one at the par-72, 6,282-yard Robinson Ranch Golf Club. The first day of the tournament the team shot a 330 (+42), but by the last day the Cougars had improved by nine strokes to post a 321 (+33) in the final round.

After suffering a disqualification in the first round freshman Ali Thompson came back to led the team on the last day with a 78 (+6). The tournament leader for the Cougs was fellow freshman Emma Betland who posted an 81 (+9) in the final round for a tournament total of 238 (+22). This is the first event of her collegiate career where she has led the team.

Sophomore Kristen Allard came in second for the Cougars carding an 81 (+9) on the final day of the event for a three round total of 243 (+27). Redshirt junior Allison Travis, who led the team the first day, also posted an 81 (+9) on the last day for the tournament total of 248 (+32). Freshman Ellen Park carded a 91 (+19) on the last day for a three round total of 267 (+51).

The team will continue with the season next week in Boulder City, Nev. to play in the Spring Rebel Invitational starting on Monday, March 8.
