WSU VOLLEYBALL (FINALLY) PLAYING AT HOME AGAIN IN BOHLER GYM
The Washington State University volleyball team (10-4, 0-2 Pac-12) returns home to Bohler Gym after playing eight straight road matches...Cougars host defending national champs No. 4 UCLA (9-2, 1-1) Fri., Sept. 28 at 7 p.m...WSU hosts defending Pac-12 champs No. 3 USC (13-1, 1-1) Sun., Sept. 30 at 11:30 a.m...WSU-USC match will be televised live on Pac-12 TV Networks.
COUGAR COACHING STAFF: BUILDING A WINNING PROGRAM
Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny (22-24 at WSU, 2nd year; 134-48 in career, 6th year)...during her first season Greeny's team doubled the total number of wins from the previous season, including four more wins in the elite Pac-12 Conference action...Meagan Ganzer became the first Cougar to be named to All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region teams since 2002, and All-American, the fourth in WSU history and the first since 1996....assistant coaches Pat Stangle (former head coach at Wyoming, former asst. coach at Washington) and Burdette Greeny (former asst. coach at LCSC)...Katie Hinrichs, coordinator of operations (former player at LCSC)...volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt was the first WSU player to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.
COUGAR VOLLEYBALL ON TELEVISION
The Pac-12 Conference launched the Pac-12 Networks Aug. 15, 2012... friends, family and avid volleyball fans around the country will be treated to a 12 broadcasts of WSU volleyball matches during the 2012 season on the Pac-12 Networks...five home matches and seven Cougar volleyball road contests will be televised. "We are thrilled with the amount of television coverage we will have with the new Pac-12 Network this year," WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said. "It is sensational to see the Pac-12 make such a strong commitment to televise the sport of volleyball. This is a great schedule and we are excited to play 12 matches on TV this fall."
COUGAR LITTLE SPIKERS PROGRAM
The Cougar Volleyball program will conduct four Little Spikers volleyball one-hour clinics for children ages 5 through 11 years...the clinics run from 10 to 11 a.m. in Bohler Gym Sept. 29, Oct. 20, Nov. 3 and Nov. 17...a fun atmosphere is provided for learning the basics of volleyball using a special lightweight ball...a $25 registration fee covers the four Saturday clinics, a Little Spikers T-shirt, and free admission to Cougar home matches...for more information, contact the WSU Volleyball Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) at 509-335-7169.
