Betland Leads Team for Second-Consecutive Tournament

Tempe, Ariz. - The Washington State women's golf team is currently in 17th place after the first round of the Ping ASU Invitational. The team posted a 308 (+20) at the Karsten Golf Course, a par 72, it is playing at 6,230 yards for the event.

For the third time this spring season freshman Emma Betland has led the team after the first round. Along with Betland, junior Allison Travis posted a 76 (+4) and both golfers are currently in a tie for 55th.

Freshman Ali Thompson and sophomore Kristen Allard both carded a 78 (+6) in the first round and are in a tie for 70th. Freshman Ellen Park finished with an 82 (+10).

Play will continue tomorrow with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
