Thoughts from WSU Head Men's Basketball Coach Paul Graham:
(On Yesterday's Day Off)
"The NCAA demands we give our team one day off each week. Yesterday was that day for us. We have had four really good practices and giving our guys a day off gives them a chance to get their legs back. We expect another high intensity practice today."
(Fan Question from Bret in Seattle)
Q: Coach, I appreciate your hard work and focus with the Cougs. I heard the program is young and growing. Where do you think we are today?
A: "I think our program is moving toward being a contender in the Pac-10. We have five seniors on our basketball team, but we could have a starting lineup of five underclassmen. The good thing is the underclassmen are players that have been in our program.
"Milton Riley is a fifth-year senior. Cedrick Hughey and Justin Lyman are seniors. Marcus Moore and Nick Graham are juniors. Thomas Kelati and Shami Gill are both sophomores. So, therefore, we feel we have experience that will help us be a very good basketball team."
