WSU VOLLEYBALL OPENS 2012 SEASON IN MOSCOW, IDAHO
The Washington State University volleyball team begins the 2012 season this Friday, Aug. 24, at the Idaho Nike Tournament...Cougars take on Montana at 4:30 p.m. in Memorial Gym...Saturday, Aug. 25, WSU plays Pacific at 10 a.m. and then meets host team Idaho at 7 p.m...the WSU volleyball team has won its season-opening match 21 of the past 22 years...all the Cougar volleyball matches at the Idaho Nike Invite will be broadcast live this weekend on KQQQ (1150 AM) in the Palouse area and on the internet (see below).

COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny (12-20 at WSU, 2nd year; 124-44 in career, 6th year) is ready to take on her second season in the top job...an outstanding student and athlete at WSU, Greeny was an All-Pac-10 player and member of three NCAA teams including the 1996 Elite Eight team...also an assistant coach for three more NCAA appearances including the 2002 Elite Eight team...had highly successful NAIA coaching career at Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) with four-year record of 112-24 (.824)...assistant coaches Pat Stangle (former head coach at Wyoming, former asst. coach at Washington) and Burdette Greeny (former asst. coach at LCSC)...Katie Hinrichs, coordinator of operations (former player at LCSC)...volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt was the first WSU player to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.

TUNE IN FOR COUGAR VOLLEYBALL ROAD MATCHES ON RADIO
Cougar volleyball fans can listen to all the road contests during the 2012 season LIVE in the Palouse on KQQQ-AM radio (1150 AM)...veteran area broadcaster Steve Grubbs is the voice of Cougar volleyball for the seventh season...road matches are also available on the internet by purchasing a subscription through Cougar All-Access on the wsucougars.com website.

COUGAR VOLLEYBALL ON TELEVISION
The Pac-12 Conference launched the Pac-12 Networks Aug. 15, 2012... friends, family and avid volleyball fans around the country will be treated to a 12 broadcasts of WSU volleyball matches during the 2012 season on the Pac-12 Networks...five home matches and seven Cougar volleyball road contests will be televised including both matches against cross-state rival Washington, as well as at defending national champion UCLA and the match against the defending Pac-12 Champion USC. "We are thrilled with the amount of television coverage we will have with the new Pac-12 Network this year," WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said. "It is sensational to see the Pac-12 make such a strong commitment to televise the sport of volleyball. This is a great schedule and we are excited to play 12 matches on TV this fall."
