PERREIRA'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

GENERAL: Graduated in ’95 from James Campbell High School with three letters in baseball and one each in soccer and volleyball…coached by Lane Watanuki…JUNIOR: Team captain for baseball team...SENIOR: an all-state second basebman and OIA West Player-of-the-year…member of OIA championship team and named championship game MVP…hit .500 with four home runs and had 25 RBI.

PERREIRA'S UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI’I CAREER

RS-FRESHMAN (1996-97): Hit .281 overall and .265 in the WAC…played in 32 games, 24 as a starter at either catcher, first base, or designated hitter…had six multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games…threw out 26% of would be base stealers when behind the plate… RS-SOPHOMORE (1997-98): Hit .229 for the Rainbows while playing in 31 games…started 21…had three doubles and 13 RBI…Hawaii was 34-22…had five multi-hit games and his longest hitting streak of the season was five games.

PERREIRA’S WASHINGTON STATE CAREER

RS-JUNIOR (1998-99): Transferred to WSU from the University of Hawai’i in August… began the year as the Cougs’ starting third baseman, and faired well with a .406 (13x32) average and two home runs in his first month as a Coug… received only 21 at-bats the rest of the year as a result of the phenomenal play of freshman Bookie Gates moving to third base… in WSU’s first series of the year at NMSU, he hit .474 with nine hits, two home runs and seven runs scored… went 2-for-5 in his WSU debut Feb. 12… had back-to-back three-hit games Feb. 13-14, and had back-to-back home run games Feb. 14-15… ended the season with a .283 batting average... here's how he hit against Pac-10 opponents: ARIZ (DNP), ASU (DNP), CAL .000 (0/4), OSU .000 (0/1), Stanford (DNP), UCLA (DNP), USC (DNP), Washington .000 (0/0)... his monthly hitting averages: February .406 (13/32), March .077 (1/13), April .143 (1/7), May .000 (0/1).
