Nick Tanielu Wins All-Star Game MVP

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Former Washington State infielder Nick Tanielu went 3-for-3 with an RBI and captured the New York-Penn League All-Star Game MVP, Tuesday.

Representing the Tri-City ValleyCats, the Short Season A affiliate of the Houston Astros, Tanielu knocked in the one run for the North in a 1-1 tie with a single in the fifth inning.

Tanielu is currently batting .307 with 17 extra-base hits and 37 RBI for Tri-City. His RBI total is sixth and his batting average seventh in the league at the break.

The ValleyCats currently own a 42-21 record and have an eight-game lead in the Stedler Division with 13 games remaining.
