Four Cougars Earn Pac-12 Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Washington State had four student-athletes earned Pac-12 Conference baseball honors earlier this week.

Freshman closer Ian Hamilton and redshirt junior Nick Tanielu were named to the All-Pac-12 Conference team. Junior pitcher Joe Pistorese and junior outfielder Yale Rosen received honorable mention.

Hamilton finished the regular season as the Pac-12 leader in saves with 15. His total is tied for seventh nationally and tied for first with Bryan Garcia (Miami, Fla.) for the national lead among freshmen.

Tanielu batted .340 with 33 RBI while starting and playing in 53 of the Cougars’ 54 games. His average is sixth in the Pac-12. He is tied for second in the conference with 16 doubles and he collected 70 hits, tied for third in the Pac-12.

Pistorese logged a 4-3 record with a team-leading 3.31 ERA in 16 games, 13 stats. His 98 innings tie him for sixth in the Pac-12. Rosen batted .294 with five home runs, tied for eighth in the Pac-12 and 28 RBI. His 13 doubles are tied for 10th in the conference.
