SAN FRANCISCO – The Washington State University volleyball program will have 13 matches televised in 2014, the Pac-12 Networks and Pac-12 Conference announced Monday.
“We are looking forward to a great 2014 season!” fourth-year Cougars Head Coach Jen Greeny said. “This schedule is once again tough, especially playing in the Pac-12. Night in and night out we are up against the best in the country. We are excited about our 13 matches on the Pac-12 Network. These TV matches are wonderful for our fans and also for people across the country to see what we have to offer here at Washington State University.”
The Pac-12 Networks has been broadcasting live contests and additional programming about the members of the Conference of Champions since August 12, 2012. In the third year of operations, the Pac-12 Networks will televise 96 women’s volleyball matches live, with an additional three televised live by ESPNU this season.
WSU’s opening Pac-12 match for the 2014 season will be at in Seattle at cross-state rival Washington, Wed., Sept. 24, for a 7:30 p.m. contest to be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks. The Cougars first home conference match will be Friday, Oct. 3, against USC in a 6 p.m. match to be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Cougars open the 2014 volleyball season at the Montana Invitational tournament in Missoula, Aug. 29-30, taking on Wyoming, Montana and Cal Poly. The next two weekends WSU is at the Notre Dame Golden Dome Invite playing IUPUI, Notre Dame and Western Michigan, and then at the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raider Bash in Murfreesboro, Tenn., taking on Virginia Tech, Belmont and Illinois. WSU returns to Pullman to host the Cougar Challenge tournament in Bohler Gym Thursday and Friday, Sept. 18-19, playing Idaho, Portland State and Loyola Marymount.
