“They are a very good team. I thought we played pretty well, especially the first two sets, but just couldn’t close it out and they really had the momentum in the third,” WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said. “Krista Vansant is a phenomenal player and a great all-around player so it is tough to slow her down. (on WSU freshman Kyra Holt) Kyra plays all the way around and really does so much for our team. She’s brought a lot this year and we’ve been really impressed with how she’s played consistently. (reflecting on the season) Playing eight five-set matches in this conference, especially this year, I’m really proud of this team and the way we’ve battled. We were really close to having a better record than this and being eligible for the tournament but we will build on that for next year.”

This was the final match of the 2013 season for WSU and the Cougars had the best overall record and Pac-12 record in Greeny’s three years as head coach.
