WSU VOLLEYBALL OPENS 2013 SEASON AT WEST POINT, NEW YORK
The Washington State University volleyball team begins the 2013 season this Sat., Aug. 31, at the Army Black Knights Invitational in West Point, New York...Cougars take on Alabama at 9 a.m. PT and then meet Seton Hall at 1:30 p.m. PT...Sun., Sept. 1, WSU plays tournament host team Army at 10 a.m...WSU volleyball team has won its season-opening match 24 of the past 26 years...all the Cougar volleyball matches at the Army Invite will be broadcast live this weekend on KQQQ (1150 AM) in the Palouse area and on the internet.

Cougar volleyball fans can listen to all the road contests during the 2013 season LIVE in the Palouse on KQQQ-AM radio (1150 AM)…veteran area broadcaster Steve Grubbs is the voice of Cougar volleyball for the eighth season...road match audio is also available on the internet at wsucougars.com.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Jen Stinson Greeny begins her third season as WSU’s head coach (25-39 at WSU, 2 years; 137-63 in career, 6 years) - complete Greeny bio on page 3...assistant coaches Burdette Greeny (3rd year) and Shannon Hunt (first year)...volunteer coach Kali Gesser...all four coaches are former WSU student-athletes...Katie Hinrichs is coordinator of operations (3rd year).

2013 RECRUITING CLASS RANKED 14th-BEST NATIONALLY
The Cougar volleyball program’s 2013 class of six freshmen earned accolades as the 14th-best nationally according to PrepVolleyball.com’s annual rankings...WSU is one of seven Pac-12 programs ranked in the top 15 nationally, the highest rankings of any conference for 2013...freshmen class includes Emmy Allen, a 6-2 OH from Mill Creek, Wash., Hailey Bethune, a 6-0 RS from Stockton, Calif., Taylor Ellingsen, a 5-8 DS from Spokane, Wash., Kyra Holt, a 6-1 OH from Hercules, Calif., Haley MacDonald, a 6-0 S from Bothell, Wash., and Tani Stephens, a 5-8 DS from Albany, Ore.
