PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University ended the 2014 season with a No. 5 Northwest regional ranking, it was recently announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
In addition to the team, junior Elizaveta Luzina finished the season ranked No. 14 in the Northwest Region with the duo of Luzina and sophomore Lize Leenknecht were ranked No. 10 by the ITA.
A native of Moscow, Russia, Luzina concluded the 2014 season with a team-leading 29 singles victories, including wins over four players ranked in the top 50 nationally. The pairing of Luzina and Leenknecht posted a 26-8 record, setting the WSU single-season record for victories.
The Cougars finished 2014 with an 18-10 record, the second-most victories in school history, and a No. 52 national ranking.
