PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Coach Lisa Hart has signed Holly Monahan to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced Wednesday.
Monahan, a native of Dublin, Ireland, plans to enroll for the start of the fall semester, 2014.
"Holly will be a great addition to our program and we are thrilled to have her join the Cougar family,” said Hart. “She has played at the highest levels of junior tennis and will bring a wealth of ability and experience when she arrives. I can’t wait to have her in Pullman next fall."
Monahan is ranked the No. 1 in Ireland for Under 18. This year she has captured the Irish National Junior Matchplay title, was a finalist in the Irish Senior National Indoors. In 2012 Monahan captured the Junior Irish Close Championship and has also been a member of the Ireland Under 17 Olympic Field Hockey Development team.
“I am so excited to be signing as a Cougar,” said Monahan. “Since I first spoke to Coach Hart I have felt more and more at home with WSU. When I visited I knew that everyone was part of one team that really supported each other. Even the weather in Pullman made me feel at home!”
